Fishing Fayette 5-02-2014
May 2, 2014: Fishing Fayette County Lake, Fayetteville, Texas
My Neighbor, Mike Satterwhite, was my guest partner for this great day of fishing on Fayette County Lake. Launched at Fayette County Lake's Oak Thicket Park boat ramp at 06:45 A.M. CST. Ramp was not to busy this great morning. The wind was a little fickle all day. It seemed to blow a lot from the west, then it would lay down. Then it would pick up. It was like a hour of 12 mph , and then 6 mph, and so on like that. The bait we were using for the majority of the catch, was a white, w/chartreuse teaser tail 3/8 oz double willow leaf spinnerbait in 5-10 feet of water at a moderate rate of speed. None of the fish we caught were over 17 inches. All of our fish inside the slot size limit of 14 inches to 24 inches, were returned to the lake after the photo was taken. We also caught 4 under the protected 14 inch size. They too were also returned to the lake to be caught another day.
